Rod Stewart’s Swanky $74 Million Beverly Hills Estate

Democrats put up a big vote — 174 — in favor of this bill, which was intended to sweeten the overall package for conservatives. Still, 37 “no” votes, while a break from Washington’s ironclad support for the Jewish state, fell short of the opposition bloc progressives had hoped to muster. Thirty-nine Democrats had voted “no” on Friday on the rule to allow the foreign aid package to come to the House floor, a target that progressives just missed on Saturday on the Israel bill. Fourteen of those Democrats voted on Saturday in favor of aid to Israel, while 12 Democrats who voted to allow the package on the floor on Friday then cast votes against the funding itself. While all Democrats voted in favor of aid to Ukraine and all but Ms. Tlaib supported funding to Taiwan, 37 left-leaning Democrats defected to vote against the Israel aid bill. They said before the vote that they opposed unfettered aid to Israel that could be used in its offensive in Gaza.

The actor first listed the 6.2-acre property for sale in April of last year for $87.5 million, but dropped the price in November to $79.5 million. Last week, he was able to let go of the home for an even deeper discount, selling the estate for $55 million. Wahlberg and his wife picked up the land for around $8.25 million in 2009 and proceeded to build the 30,500-square-foot mansion that sits there today. The Hollywood A-listers built their version of one of the world's best homes in 2014, on six acres of land in the exclusive gated community close to Mulholland Drive.

Marques said it was built by Nevada RE LLC, a private builder, and was designed by renowned Brandon Architects of Newport Beach, California. Boasting 2 stories as well as 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, and 2-half baths – this desert oasis was picked up by Wahlberg in 2022 for $14.5 million. Purchased from Discovery Land Company, the 7,327 square foot villa is likely where the family plans to stay while their main residence in the area is being built. The North Beverly Park property has 12 bedrooms and 20 baths and sold for $55 million - a loss of over $32 million as the 51-year-old actor first put it on the market in April 2022 at $87.5 million. Set on more than six acres, the estate is in Beverly Park, a star-studded neighborhood that regularly sees sales north of $30 million.

Both include smart storage and sinks, with plenty of space leftover for a breakfast bar area, styled with raffia bar stools. The house, for all its grandeur, has been designed for easy living – the kitchen leads through seamlessly to the living room. This is where we find an amazing home theater, a wine/cigar cellar and smoking lounge, and Mark Wahlberg’s gym — a pro-level space fitted with all the equipment the actor needed to beef up for his action flicks.

Historic 32,000 Square Foot Brick Mansion In Detroit, Michigan

The 30,500 square-foot home, with 12 bedrooms and 20 baths, is set on 6.2 acres in North Beverly Park, an exclusive gated community in Los Angeles. The home includes a fitness center, where Wahlberg has posted his intense workout routine to social media; a tennis court; a home theater; manicured gardens; a five-hole golf course; a skate park; and a resort-like grotto pool. Mark Wahlberg has finally found a buyer for his colossal Beverly Park estate, according to Mansion Global.

NASCAR Legend Tony Stewart’s 415 Acre Indiana Ranch For Sale

The 6.2-acre estate is located in the exclusive North Beverly Park gated community. The price for the property has gone up a crazy amount since Wahlberg first purchased it, $79.2 million to be exact. In 2009, the actor paid just $8.25 million for the land, reported TMZ.

It contains 12 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms spread between a main house, a separate guesthouse, a pool cabana, and a viewing pavilion located next to the sports court. Built by architect Richard Landry, the exterior of the massive structure incorporates elements inspired by the French countryside. Front doors open to a double height room with custom millwork and a sweeping staircase that flaunts intricate iron balusters. Most rooms are topped with coffered ceilings and a fireplace is on offer in innumerable rooms, even in one of the bathrooms. The primary suite offers a living and sleeping area, plus a spacious balcony that looks out on the sprawling backyard.

He spent years working on the custom-built home for his family, which was completed in 2014. On the outside, it looks like Buckingham Palace, and the inside doesn’t disappoint either. You can find a two-story panelled library, a massive home theatre, wine cellar, a fully equipped gym, and walk-in closets probably bigger than most studio apartments in Vancouver.

Wahlberg purchased the land in 2009 for a measly $8.25 million, putting in at least five years of renovation efforts to achieve a Mediterranean-style manor with his wife, Rhea Durham. Taking its design cue from classic English country house style, with a touch of Continental sophistication added in, the main sitting room is flooded with natural daylight and neutral living room ideas. The two-story foyer has an elaborate double staircase decorated with antique-style wrought iron. Such an elegant property would look equally at home in Italy or France, but it has been skillfully designed to sit beautifully in the Californian landscape, with the hills behind creating the perfect natural backdrop. But soon enough, Wahlberg’s mansion was relisted with a new asking price of $79.5 million, with Carl Gambino of Compass and Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency, Inc. holding the listing. Needless to say, it makes sense for family get-togethers to have taken place at Mark Wahlberg’s house, where there’s plenty of space for all the Wahlbergs.

An earlier version of this article incorrectly identified the political party of a group of representatives who notably voted “no” on new aid for Israel. Inside Mark Wahlberg's Hollywood mansion he sold for $55million after listing at $87 million HELLO!

mark wahlberg house

Designed by architect Richard Landry, the 30,500 sqft property is made up of the main house, guesthouse, poolside cabana and viewing pavilion – not to mention a five-hole golf course and a skateboard park. 'Boogie Nights’ star Mark Wahlberg and his wife, model Rhea Durham, have listed their amazing Beverly Park chateau for $87.5m. If the actor sells the home for the asking price, it will be the most expensive home ever sold in Beverly Park.

Inside Mark Wahlberg’s house, a Beverly Park mega-mansion that just sold for $55M

Built in 2014, the chateau-like home sits on a sprawling 6-acre lot in North Beverly Park, the most exclusive gated community in Los Angeles — if not the entire West Coast. Mark Wahlberg’s mega-mansion — an amenity-loaded compound complete with a golf course, skate park and grotto — just surfaced for sale at $87.5 million in Beverly Park. Mark Wahlberg is turning heads with the sale price of his longtime Beverly Hills estate, which initially hit the market for a whopping $87.5 million. Of course, Snopes always recommends taking five minutes or so to try and figure out if an article is a real news story or not, but here's a few things we've noticed that might raise red flags. Satire sites like Esspots publish headlines like they're celebrity gossip tabloids, oftentimes claiming that two celebrities are or aren't working with each other on a project.

He has five new homes under construction, including ones in MacDonald Highlands and Ascaya. Residential real estate is a reflection of the desirability and value of Las Vegas, said Anthony Spiegel, a Realtor with IS Luxury, who is intimately familiar with the Wahlberg transaction. That’s in contrast to the new-home market overall, which saw closings fall 1.6 percent in 2022.

Closings are a lagging indicator to sales because people can drop out of a transaction before it closes. Both parcels together offer the Wahlberg fam around 2 acres of land to build on – more than enough space for a gorgeous estate. Even if Wahlberg has to lower his asking price, the sale should be a financial boon for the rapper/model turned movie superstar and a boost to his net worth. Wahlberg said he "moved to California many years ago to pursue acting," and has "only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there."

The actor’s net worth is already through the roof

The opposition to the Israel aid represented a minority of Democrats, but reflected the deep resistance to unconditional aid and the divisions in the party on Gaza. Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland represented a notable new “no” vote among Democrats, and other standouts included Representatives Donald S. Beyer Jr. of Virginia, Earl Blumenauer of Oregon and John Garamendi of California. The move-in-ready luxury mountain home is on the market at $13,495,000 with two homeowner/property memberships to Martis Camp. Blue Heron will add to the luxury new homes on the Multiple Listing Service. Its show home on the North Shore at Lake Las Vegas, known as Caliza, is being listed for sale and expected to fetch as much as $5 million-plus.

It is lined with classic highly-polished wood shelving and has a marble fireplace, one of at least seven in the traditionally-styled home. Villa Firenze, a Beverly Park mansion that was once listed for $165 million, sold for $52 million. After flaunting it on the market for the better part of last year with a staggering $87.5 million asking price, the Uncharted actor took it off the market back in October 2022, citing concerns about rising interest rates. Wahlberg’s former house has a 5-hole golf course and golf driving range (a driving range is an area or a facility where golfers can practice their golf swing). The main level also includes an enormous kitchen/family room complex that comes with pantries, a separate prep kitchen, and staff quarters and offices.

The actor first broke into the public scene back in 1991 with his hip-hop group, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, before moving on to a widely successful movie career. “[It is] truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire one of the great estates in Los Angeles,” the listing notes. Seven months later, he took the home off the market as rising interest rates continued.

If he pulls off anywhere near his asking price, it will be considered the most expensive sale in the Beverly Park area. Blue Heron plans to list a show home and two spec homes in March at Oasi in the historic Tomiyasu neighborhood, near Sunset and Pecos roads. The spec homes are expected to be listed in the high $2 million to low $3 million range, while the show home at Oasi will be a high $4 million to low $5 million. Coletti said that he’s still getting buyers from California and demand remains strong.

While celebrities notoriously live in sprawling multi-million-dollar homes with the finest amenities and more rooms than we can count, Mark Wahlberg’s house is so out-of-this-world that it puts even the most expensive celebrity homes to shame. And if his $2 million car collection or his luxury watch collection (consisting mostly of Rolex and Patek Philippe timepieces) won’t convince you of that, his palatial house in Los Angeles’ most exclusive neighborhood will do the trick. If the movie star gets his price (or anything close), it’ll be the second-biggest home sale in Southern California so far this year.

“We came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids, and there’s a lot of opportunity here. In the meantime, he has splashed out $14.5 million on a 7,327-square-foot home with four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and two half-baths. A grand double-height foyer marked by two flights of stairs adorned with intricate fretwork wrought iron balustrades greets guests upon entrance to the main house.

And there’s plenty of room for that on the grounds of his Beverly Park mansion. Moving on to the bedrooms, Mark Wahlberg’s house comes with enough sleeping quarters and bathrooms (12 bedrooms and an impressive total of 20 baths) to fit his entire family — and that’s no easy task, as there are quite a few Wahlbergs to host. To put things into perspective, a 2.9-acre undeveloped plot of land in Beverly Park (less than half the size of Wahlberg’s property) was listed last year for $29.5 million — which amounted to roughly $10 million/acre. Initially listed for $87.5 million, the palatial 30,500-square-foot abode sold at a major discount -- but that doesn't make it any less impressive. Take the tour of the sprawling Beverly Park mansion Mark Wahlberg just sold for $55 million.

The compound also includes a guest house and an entertainment complex. You will also find a pool and gazebo, a full-size basketball court, a stone pool and spa, and a sprawling lawn. An avid golfer, Mark even had a putting green built in his backyard so that he could perfect his game.

It’s been less than 10 years since Mark Wahlberg’s custom Beverly Hills home was completed and the actor is already preparing to move out. Wahlberg listed the property for $87.5 million in April, and has now dropped the price of the 30,500 square-foot home to $79.5 million. This classic double island kitchen has two elegant marble-topped island units.

Use uplifting colour to open up the space

Contemporary striped linens match the beige-painted walls and the paper pendant brings adds just a touch of intrigue to this small sleeping nook, which looks like it was once a sunroom. In a small bedroom, there is no wall space to spare, so don't be afraid to put your bed beneath the window. A Cambria quartz desktop suits the sophisticated mood, but “doesn’t ever require resealing, reconditioning, or polishing,” says Yip. I'm Cam, the former deputy editor of Real Homes who worked on the site from 2020 to 2023. As a renter myself, sharing a home with two friends (and my cat) in London, I know all too well the challenges that this can pose when it comes to creating your perfect setup. It’s not always the easiest to figure out, but the journey is fun and the results are so worth it.

Compact Joint Desk and Bed

design a small bedroom ideas

Paint the walls and ceiling the same shade to downplay any awkward angles. It might be tempting to buy the biggest bed possible to create a luxurious retreat. So instead, choose a bed frame with small stature that won't take over the room, such as an iron bed with a see-through headboard and footboard. A bed with no footboard, such as a platform or storage bed, also works well.

Make a Statement on Bedroom Walls

Make use of every corner by installing reading lights above the bed or creating DIY-style bookshelves. Here, bedside essentials are just propped on top of the bed frame. This pint-sized bungalow in Palm Beach might be a mere 800 square feet, but that didn’t stop architect Lee F. Mindel from maximizing the bedroom’s small footprint. The all-white paint job creates the illusion of space, while a set of antique watercolors draws your eye up and around the room. With plush velvet seating, dark wood paneled walls, and classic landscape photos, this bedroom designed by Hecker Guthrie is a beautiful blend of classic and modern style.

Mirrored wardrobes, a reflect shiny wall covering and mirrored tables are used in the compact bedroom to make the space feel bigger than it is, while adding romantic bedroom ideas to the space. ‘In small bedrooms I really like using wall lights as opposed to table lamps for bedside lighting. When designing a bedroom with limited space it is a good idea to keep furniture to a minimum and to carefully consider the size of the pieces alongside other simple bedroom ideas. When it comes to small bedroom layout ideas it can be hard to know where to start. When decorating small bedrooms, one of the best ways to maximise space is to use light and fresh colours. Hues such as soft sorbet pinks, greys or whites will help to ensure the room feels bigger.

Art-Filled Studio Apartment

For a touch more detail, feel free to accent a muted color palette. "Additionally, incorporating darker tones like navy or charcoal as accent walls or in furniture pieces can add depth and sophistication to the space." The ideal solution if your small bedroom is short on floor space but generous in height – a loft bed can free up room for a sofa or a desk area. Select something light and airy, like this pale-toned pine loft bed from IKEA, with a slim and unobtrusive frame. This lovely tucked-away bedroom may be small, but it's filled with character and colour.

These IKEA storage units are just 42cm in depth, perfect for tidying away books, accessories, extra bedding or towels without taking up valuable inches in a small bedroom. We love the idea of adding a narrow desk underneath for the ultimate multifunctional space. Using wall panelling to extend the silhouette of your bed is a common design device for small bedrooms. The wall mounted lights are a clever addition to free up space on the bedside tables. Lean into your small bedroom's cozy vibe by going for a moody palette throughout. "Painting the baseboards, walls, doors, and ceiling the same color helps to make the space feel larger and is something we love to do in most bedrooms," says Shea.

Built In Bed

With thoughtful decor and clever space planning, a small bedroom can be just as stylish and functional as a larger space. Small bedrooms make up for what they lack in size by being cozy, inviting, and easy to maintain. Even if you share your small bedroom with your partner, pet, or home office, there are plenty of clever storage, layout, and decor options to make your space functional and full of personality.

Decorate the Ceiling

Most attics will not have a separate space for a closet, which means you will need to be clever about how you add storage. Adding drawers beneath furniture and a hanging rack are just some ways to add closet space without having a closet. For example, a small desk can have a mirror so that it can double as a vanity. For a boys’ room, a hanging hammock chair is a great way to add interesting seating without taking up a lot of space. Generally speaking white and neutral are thought best for decorating tiny space because the colours are calming and tranquil. In a petite kid's room, take over part of the wardrobe space to create a cool work zone. Installing a wall lamp and hanging a pin board where you can fix pots for pens and other knick knacks will keep the desk space free for focusing on the important stuff.

Looking for the sort of small bedroom ideas that will maximise space and give your bijou bedroom a stylish new makeover? A big mirror, like the one in this bedroom by @life_at_number52, visually doubles the space with its reflection. Mirrors also help to bounce light around the room, making it feel big and airy. Maximize wall-storage potential with floor-to-ceiling shelves, as in this small guest bedroom by @classiccasualhome. Hooks and baskets break up the repetition while providing more sweet spots for bedroom necessities. You might want to rethink black-out window treatments in a small bedroom.

You can't deny that the linear design of the area rug visually stretches the floor space too... Using curves in a small room will give the space momentum, and we love how the accent wall in this modern bedroom space is accentuated by the shape of the table lamp too. There are lots of modern aesthetics that work in a small bedroom, whatever your interior design spirit may be.

To make the room feel larger, lean a modern mirror against the wall, as done here. First, the sconces, which don't take up any surface space since they're wall mounted, and second, the side chair, which can be pulled up as a bedside table when need be. One of the biggest challenges in a small bedroom is finding places to put all your stuff since the bed takes up most of the room.

Of course, if you are using your small bedroom as an office or family room, the bed itself can be stored. Finally, make sure storage is accessible and easy to use—children are notorious for messy bedrooms, and that will show much quicker in a small bedroom.

You'll likely need to get creative with how to arrange furniture in a small bedroom to accommodate various functions. For instance, you could push the desk next to the wall by your bed so it can pull double-duty as a nightstand and workstation. If you have room, try relocating your dresser to the closet to clear floor space in the main bedroom area. Use these stylish small bedroom ideas, strategic decorating tips, and clever storage solutions to turn your tight-on-space bedroom into a dreamy retreat.

House: Season 8 2011 Cast & Crew

dr house cast

The second season does not have an official release date yet, but it is expected to drop sometime in late 2023. It's unclear what the exact nature of his role will be, or how long his character's stay will last, but given Leonard's talents, it'll definitely be worth the watch. The opening sequence begins with an MRI of a head with an image of the boxed "H" from the logo (the international symbol for hospital) in the foreground.

Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House

Edelstein was attracted to the quality of the writing and her character's "snappy dialogue" with House, and was cast as Dr. Lisa Cuddy. Jacobson has starred in a number of television series and movies, including "Ray Donovan," "Cars 2," and "Transformers." As well as continuing to star in television series and films, most notably as the main protagonist in "Once Upon a Time" from 2011 to 2018, Morrison has moved into directing since the end of "House."

Dr. Robert Chase - Jesse Spencer

Lupus because the subject of a running joke on the show and became a fan-favorite meme. When the diagnosis turned out to be correct, House admitted, “It’s happened...I finally have a case of lupus." When he originally auditioned for the show, Hugh Laurie believed Dr. James Wilson (the role that went to Robert Sean Leonard) was the series lead because he couldn’t see how someone as unlikeable as House would be the star. In a 2005 review, one writer called his character “anti-social, misanthropic, cynical, abrasive, abusive, smug." Among the show’s many guest stars, Dave Matthews appeared on the “Half-Wit” episode of season 3.

Sherlock Holmes references

When a patient comes in displaying smallpox symptoms, House risks his life to save the patient, but fails to save the dad who suffers from the same disease, but saves his original patient. As Cuddy and House's relationship advances, Cuddy's mother is in town, and he, Cuddy, her mother (Arlene) and Wilson eat dinner, during which House drugs Wilson and Arlene. House also mentions that his relationship with Cuddy was making him a worse doctor, but he would always choose Cuddy over medicine.

Robert Sean Leonard was Dr. James Wilson.

The story lines tend to focus on his unconventional medical theories and practices, and on the other characters' reactions to them, rather than on the details of the treatments. Laurie later revealed that he initially thought the show's central character was Dr. James Wilson. He assumed that House was a supporting character, due to the nature of the character, until he received the full script of the pilot episode. Laurie, the son of a doctor, Ran Laurie, said he felt guilty for "being paid more to become a fake version of [his] own father". From the start of Season 3, he was being paid $275,000 to $300,000 per episode, as much as three times what he had previously been making on the series.

Attanasio, Jacobs, Shore and Singer, were executive producers of the program for its entirety. Diagnosed with terminal Huntington's disease, Thirteen appeared in 81 episodes of "House." Almost immediately after "House" finished, Spencer took up a role as firefighter Matthew Casey in the drama "Chicago Fire," which he held until the show ended in 2021. Lisa Edelstein starred as Dr. Lisa Cuddy, Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital's Dean of Medicine and Dr. House's love interest, in "House" from seasons one to seven.

After admitting his relationship with Cuddy to his team, they worry if the couple can keep their work and personal lives separate. In one case, after a newborn stops breathing, the case ends in the baby living but the mother dying because she refused a critical operation for her child. After Hadley leaves, Cuddy pressures House to take on another fellow, who is Martha M. Masters, a third-year med student who is something of a child prodigy, graduating high school at fifteen and being about three years younger than any of her peers.

In the 20th episode of Season 5, Simple Explanation, Kutner is found dead in his apartment with a gunshot wound to the head. Because Kutner left no note, House suspects foul play, though the death is accepted by the other characters as a suicide. Lawrence Kaplow, Peter Blake, and Thomas L. Moran joined the staff as writers at the beginning of the first season after the making of the pilot episode. Writers Doris Egan, Sara Hess, Russel Friend, and Garrett Lerner joined the team at the start of Season 2. After observing the show's success, they accepted when Jacobs offered them jobs again the following year. Since the beginning of Season 4, Moran, Friend, and Lerner have been credited as executive producers on the series, joining Attanasio, Jacobs, Shore, and Singer.

House cast and crew members also regularly attend fundraisers for NAMI and have featured in ads for the organization that have appeared in Seventeen and Rolling Stone. The show's efforts have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the charity. Jacobs said that through their association with NAMI, they hope to take "some of the stigma off that illness". The team employs the differential diagnosis method, listing possible etiologies on a whiteboard, then eliminating most of them, usually because one of the team (most often House) provides logical reasons for ruling them out. House often tends to arrive at the correct diagnosis seemingly out of the blue, often inspired by a passing remark made by another character. Robert Sean Leonard had received the script for the CBS show Numb3rs, as well as that for House.

The series is actually based on real events and should be a nice change of pace for the Aussie actor, whose on-screen roles have remained fairly cemented for nearly two decades. Robert Sean Leonard played the role of Dr. James Wilson, head of oncology at Princeton-Plainsboro as well as House's best, or rather, only friend. Not only is he an endearing, genuine, and hard-working doctor, but he also sticks by House through thick and thin. Given the often difficult and draining nature of his job, and House's rather difficult nature, it's a wonder how he's able to do it. For the Season 1 episode Three Stories, David Shore won an Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series Emmy in 2005 and the Humanitas Prize in 2006.

The second was Berton Roueché, who wrote feature pieces on unusual medical cases during his 50 years as a staff writer for The New Yorker. To bring it full circle, Sanders ended up as a technical advisor on the series. Rebecca Adler, a patient in the pilot, is named after the main antagonist in the Sherlock Holmes novels. In the Holmes books, the detective’s arch-nemesis is criminal mastermind James Moriarty. More insights into House's view of relationships were obtained in the episode Mirror Mirror.

It is implied that he frequently rebelled against his father and was punished as a result with both intense physical discomfort and emotional isolation. Following "House," Tamblyn would play recurring roles on the CBS sitcom, "Two and a Half Men," and the Comedy Central sketch series, "Inside Amy Schumer." However, Tamblyn is more than just an actress; she's also a director, poet, novelist, essayist, and activist. She co-founded the Time's Up movement, and also wrote a feminist-inspired book of poems, "Dark Sparkler." While he brings his classic candor and sarcastic wit to the role, his character isn't a genius, but more of the bumbling idiot type. It's a nice, fresh role to see Laurie take on, while still holding on to some of his more iconic screen character traits. Since retiring as House, Laurie took a brief Hollywood hiatus but returned to lend his talents to a variety of critically acclaimed series.

Despite his academic misconduct, House was accepted into the University of Michigan's Medical System on a provisional basis while waiting out the appeal period at Johns Hopkins. During his time at UM House spent most of his time hanging around the university bookstore, where he eventually met a young undergraduate named Lisa Cuddy. Following a one night stand, however, House had learned he would not be re-admitted to Johns Hopkins and he would have to repeat his final year of medical school. As a result, he withdrew from his social life and ceased his pursuit of a formal relationship with Cuddy.

Playing House means Laurie is the only cast member to have appeared in every episode of the series. That earned the actor the world record of being the most watched leading man in television. That’s a huge raise from season 1, when he reportedly started out with "mid five figures" per episode. While filming the series, Laurie told Radio Times he had to have his car windows tinted to avoid being photographed by fans. He even admitted he stopped going to the grocery store because he “couldn't stand people photographing the contents of my shopping basket."

Odette Annable played the major role of Dr. Jessica Adams in "House" for the last two seasons of the series. Adams first meets House while working as an infirmary doctor in the prison he is being held in. The two quickly hit it off, and once House is released from jail and allowed to return to Princeton-Plainsboro, he recruits Adams to come with him. Peter Jacobson joined the cast of "House" in the fourth season as Dr. Christopher Michael Taub, commonly referred to as "Taub." He played a generally kindhearted, but also anxious and insecure member of the diagnostic team.

This disregard for his own well-being horrifies Wilson and Cuddy, who see it as an expression of his self-destructive impulses. In 2012, after a year since House crashed his car into Cuddy's home, he serves his time behind bars at the East New Jersey Correctional Facility under the close watch of the prison warden. However, he seems to have been sentenced unnecessarily hard for a first offense.

For eight seasons, House took over the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey. The medical drama ran from 2004 to 2012 with the House cast of characters led by Dr. Gregory House, played brilliantly by Hugh Laurie, displaying unconventional diagnostic yet genius methods to solve complex medical cases with his team — and with his cane. House tries to get along without a team, but after having a rough time with a case, Cuddy insists he hire new fellows. House resists, but eventually puts together a contest to pick new fellows out of forty applicants.

Minor characters

Writer Lawrence Kaplow won a Writers Guild of America Award in 2006 for the Season 2 episode Autopsy. In 2022, Wilde directed her second feature, "Don't Worry Darling," a psychological thriller starring Florence Pugh, Chris Pine, and former One Direction singer Harry Styles. Chase continued to work at Princeton–Plainsboro as a surgeon before he returned to House's team in season six. In 2001, Leonard won a Tony Award for best featured actor in a play for his portrayal of poet A. Since then, Edelstein has had roles in "The Good Doctor," "The Kominsky Method," and most recently, "Little Bird." Laurie has starred in multiple television shows since the conclusion of "House."

Dr. Allison Cameron - Jennifer Morrison

For her part Cameron lets slip to a documentary team in Ugly that she loves House and later we see her trying to convince herself that it was an innocent remark. Cameron and House share a passionate kiss in Half-Wit, but it is soon revealed that she only does so to try and draw his blood. However, in the Season 6 Finale "Help Me", Cuddy tells House that she loves him while standing in his bathroom. Thinking it is another hallucination, House checks to make sure that he did not take the Vicodin. He had not, and it was true that Cuddy had ended her engagement because of her feelings for House. However, House was unable to face the prospect of losing Cuddy to cancer without resorting to Vicodin, and when Cuddy realized his inability to cope without drugs, she ended their relationship.

Production team

By the end of the series, House has gotten Park out of her shell a bit, ready to continue her medical career with experience and confidence. Additionally, Morrison, like her co-star, Olivia Wilde, has also broadened her career credits to include director, as she is set to direct the first four episodes of "Dr. Death" Season 2 for Peacock. "House, M.D." is one of the most popular medical dramas to ever hit the airwaves. Premiering on Fox on November 16, 2004, the series ran for eight seasons, before finally airing its last episode on May 21, 2012. During those seasons, the show drew audiences in with the bustling, high-stress world of Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, following the staff of the hospital, from nurses and surgeons to department heads and deans.

Dr. Marty Hamilton tried to get on House's good side by addressing him as "Greg" in DNR only to have House pause and carefully emphasize "Marty" in return. Since leaving House's team, Cameron has been far more authoritative with House, bringing him cases and pointing out how his quick diagnoses have been wrong. However, it appears she may be getting more authority over House, primarily due to her excellent administrative skills, honed by years of doing House's dictation and keeping up his charts.

At first, the patient started to make comments about how good-looking Thirteen was, then he started to express regret about how it was impossible for him to do anything about it. It appears from this that House would like to have relationships with some of the women he works with, like Lisa Cuddy and Allison Cameron, but knows that pursuing such a relationship would be inappropriate and near impossible. During this season, Cameron starts getting romantically interested in House, but House appears disinterested. Matters are complicated when PPTH gets a new chairman, Edward Vogler, a billionaire holding the hospital a virtual hostage with a donation of $100 million. He takes a dislike to the "hardly working" House and after a series of clashes that result in Cameron resigning, seeks to have him fired.

It was filmed largely in a neighborhood and business district in Los Angeles County's Westside called Century City. It received high critical acclaim, and was consistently one of the highest-rated series in the United States. Laurie was in Namibia at the time filming Flight of the Phoenix when he sent in a self-made and totally improvised audition tape. To add to the authenticity, he filmed the tape in his hotel bathroom because, he said, “It was the only place with enough light.” Talk about dedication. House's father was a strict disciplinarian, but although his punishments were severe, they were never arbitrary or fuelled by anger.

Bryan Singer chose the hospital near his hometown, West Windsor, New Jersey, as the show's fictional setting. Princeton University's Frist Campus Center is the source of the aerial views of Princeton‑Plainsboro Teaching Hospital seen in the series. Some filming took place at the University of Southern California for the Season 3 episode Half-Wit, which guest-starred Dave Matthews and Kurtwood Smith. Part of House's sixth season was filmed at the abandoned Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital, in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey, as the fictional Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital.

Despite his cynicism, he does seem to care about his colleagues to a certain extent and while considering them "idiots" is able to sometimes put aside his pride and apologize when he has offended them in a particularly sardonic fashion. House uses his flippancy to conceal his affection toward his colleagues, and denies it to the extent that he himself sometimes forgets it. In one episode, his best friend Dr. Wilson states that House could have Asperger's Syndrome, but later tells House that he only wishes he had Asperger's so he could get away with more in life. This is shown when he sometimes tries to diagnose patients after they're dead, such as in the episode "97 Seconds". However, there have been more than one occasion in which he put at risk his career, freedom and sometimes even his life to save a patient, leaving open how much he doesn't care about his patients' lives. Following "House," Spencer stuck with the emergency response beat and joined the cast of NBC's primetime drama series, "Chicago Fire" as firefighter Matt Casey.

Season 4's early episodes focus on his selection process, structured as a reality TV–style elimination contest (Jacobs referred to it as a "version of Survivor"). House assigns each applicant a number between one and 40, and pares them down to seven finalists. He assesses their performance in diagnostic cases, assisted by Foreman, who returns to the department after his dismissal from another hospital for House-like behavior that makes him otherwise unemployable. While Foreman's return means only two slots are open, House tricks Cuddy into allowing him to hire three new assistants. He ultimately selects Dr. Chris Taub (Peter Jacobson), a former plastic surgeon; Dr. Lawrence Kutner (Kal Penn), a sports medicine specialist; and Dr. Remy "Thirteen" Hadley (Olivia Wilde), an internist (nicknamed for her number in the elimination contest).

Season 5 of House was met with a more positive response in comparison to the previous season. It holds a Metacritic score of 77 out of 100, based on ten reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews". It also holds a 100% approval rating on aggregate review website Rotten Tomatoes, with an average score of 8.1 based on nine collected reviews. Mary McNamara of the Los Angeles Times highlighted the performances of the cast, especially Michael Weston as detective Lucas Douglas, calling him a "delightful addition". She continued saying "House used to be one of the best shows on TV, but it's gone seriously off the rails".

House ultimately completed his internship and obtained residencies in pathology, nephrology, and infectious disease, in addition to his completion of a double specialty. Previously a specialist in sports medicine and rehabilitation, he joined House's diagnostics team, quickly putting his talents to good use, his intellect, and ingenuity apparent from the get-go. It appeared as though had a bright future in medicine, but would, unfortunately, commit suicide in Season 5, thus bringing his time on the show to an end. House episodes premiere on Fox in the United States and Global Television Network in Canada, which have identical schedules. That same year, House was the top-rated television program in Germany, the number 2 show in Italy, and number 3 in Czechia.

Both characters play instruments (House plays the piano, the guitar, and the harmonica; Holmes, the violin) and take drugs (House is dependent on Vicodin; Holmes is often dependent on cocaine). House's relationship with Dr. James Wilson echoes that between Holmes and his confidant, Dr. John Watson. Robert Sean Leonard said that House and his character—whose name is very similar to Watson's—were originally intended to work together much as Holmes and Watson do; in his view, House's diagnostic team has assumed that aspect of the Watson role. Wilson even has a dead-beat brother who may be dead, like Watson's dead alcoholic brother. House was among the top 10 series in the United States from its second through fourth seasons. Distributed to 71 countries, it was the most-watched TV program in the world in 2008.[3] It received numerous awards, including five Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, a Peabody Award, and nine People's Choice Awards.

Later, when Cuddy is admitted to the hospital with life-threatening symptoms, House instead spends his time elsewhere, which leads to their breakup. Later, House discovers Thirteen has been in prison for the last six months and pokes into what she was in for, which is revealed to be bogus drug prescriptions. She also euthanized her brother who was dying of Huntington's (the same disease she has), but since she wore gloves, authorities could not prove she was the one who pushed the plunger. House, meanwhile, has taken up an interest in a new drug which has shown to regrow muscle in mice, and consistently goes to the lab to steal the drug. However, when he learns the drug causes fatal tumors, he excises them himself, but Cuddy finds him and takes him to the hospital. When an artist comes in as a patient faking symptoms aiming to make the diagnostic department her magnum opus, House discovers an underlying disease, and is convinced by her to change, but is rooted in old habits.
